The use of a <em>cookie<\/em> is for the web to be able to remember your visit the next time you visit that page. Although not many people know, <em>cookies <\/em>have been used for twenty years, when the first web browsers for the World Wide Web appeared.<\/p>\n<h4>What IS NOT a\u00a0<em>cookie<\/em>?<\/h4>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text vk_txt tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traducci\u00f3n\">It is not a virus or a Trojan , not a worm, or spam or spyware, or open pop -up windows.<\/p>\n<h4>What information does a <em>cookie<\/em> store?<\/h4>\n<p><em>Cookies<\/em> usually do not store sensitive information about you, like credit cards or bank data, photographs, your ID or personal information, etc. Stored data are often technical, personal preferences, contents customization, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The web server does no associate you, but your web browser. In fact, if you usually browse\u00a0with Internet Explorer and try browsing the same web with Firefox or Chrome, you will see haow the web does not realize that you are the same person because it\u2019s actually associated to the browser, not to the person.<\/p>\n<h4>What type\u00a0of<em> cookies<\/em> exist?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical<em> cookies<\/em>: these are the most basic and allows, among other things, to know whether is browsing a person or an automated application, an anonymous user or a registred one; basic functions for any dynamic web to work properly.<\/li>\n<li>Analysis<em> cookies<\/em>: they gather\u00a0information about the type of navigation that you are doing, what sections you use the most, consulted products, use time zone, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Advertising<em> cookies<\/em>: they show advertinsings depending on your browsing, your country, your language, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>What are own\u00a0<em>cookies<\/em>\u00a0and third party\u00a0<em>cookies<\/em>?<\/h4>\n<p>Own\u00a0<em>cookies<\/em> are generated by the page you are visiting, and third party ones are generated by services or external providers such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc.<\/p>\n<h4>What happens if I disable\u00a0<em>cookies<\/em>?<\/h4>\n<p>To understand the scope that disabling cookies may have, we show you some examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can\u00a0not share contents of this web on Facebook, Twitter, or any other social network.<\/li>\n<li>The web site will not adapt contents to your personal preferences, as often happens in e-shops.<\/li>\n<li>You can not access to the personal areas of the web, such as <em>My account<\/em>,\u00a0<em>My profile\u00a0<\/em>or <i>My orders.<\/i><\/li>\n<li>E-shops: it will be imposible for you to shop online, you will have to do it by phone or visiting the physical store if it has one.<\/li>\n<li>It won\u2019t be possible to customize your geographic preferences, such as time zone, currency or language.<\/li>\n<li>The web site won\u2019t be able to perform web analysis about web traffic and visitors, what will hinder the competitive web.<\/li>\n<li>You can not post on the blog, upload photos, post comments or rate contents. The web will not know wether you are a human being or an automated application posting <em>spam<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Sectioned adversiting can not be displayed, what may reduce web income.<\/li>\n<li>Every social network use <em>cookies<\/em>, if you disable them, you can not use any social network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Can <em>cookies\u00a0<\/em>be removed?<\/h4>\n<p>Yes, they can. Not only be removed, but blocked in a general or specific way\u00a0in a specific domain.<\/p>\n<p>To remove the <em>cookies\u00a0<\/em>from a web site you must go to the configuration of your browser and search the ones associated to the domain and remove them.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"navegadores\"><em>Cookies<\/em>\u00a0configuration for most popular browsers<\/h4>\n<p>The following shows how to access a specific\u00a0<em>cookie<\/em> in\u00a0<strong>Chrome<\/strong> web browser. Note: these steps may vary depending on the version of the browser:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <em>Configuration\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>Preferences <\/em>via the\u00a0<em>File\u00a0<\/em>menu or the customization icon in the upper\u00a0right.<\/li>\n<li>You will see different sections, click the option <em>Show advanced options<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <em>Privacy, Content Configuration.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Select <em>All the cookies and sites data.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>There will be a list of all the <em>cookies<\/em> ordered by domai. In order for it to be easier to find <em>cookies<\/em> from an specific domain, type the address in the\u00a0<em>Search<\/em> field.<\/li>\n<li>After doing this filter, one or more lines will be displayed with the <em>cookies\u00a0<\/em>from the requested web.
